We are building a mode in which your database lives only in your browser. It is not available yet: today your data is stored in our cloud, encrypted and isolated by household with Row-Level Security.

When it's ready, you'll tap "Local Only" in Settings and the app will stop calling the server to save to your browser's memory. Today that switch does not yet change where your data is stored.
Export your data
Your data is yours: download your transactions as CSV or PDF whenever you want, and your tax report as CSV or TurboTax (.TXF).
Cloud isolated per household
Today your data lives in our cloud and each household is isolated with Row-Level Security: a query can only return your household's rows, never another's.

This is how it will work once it's available. It isn't yet: today your data is stored in our cloud.
Go to the Vault Selector
In 'Settings > Privacy', turn on the 'Local Vault Only' switch. Once the mode is available, from that moment on Wälo will stop using the Postgres and Supabase APIs in the cloud.
LocalStorage / E2E Storage
Once available, your data will live exclusively inside your physical computer in that browser (IndexedDB) or be encrypted end to end so that only you hold the private key. Your secrets are sealed.
Manual Backups Required
Since we have no access to your Vault, if you uninstall the browser or your hard drive fails you will lose access. You will be responsible for exporting your data and keeping it somewhere safe, like a USB drive.
